As one of the largest and fastest-growing gyms, it has nearly 300 gyms across the UK – servings millions of gym-goers every day. Many of their gyms are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Making it highly accessible and keeping staff costs low. Despite their inviting offer, many people have already cancelled their Puregym memberships. If that sounds like something you want to do, you’ll want to know how to cancel your membership in the simplest way possible.
Steps to cancel your Puregym membership
Step 1 – Login to Puregym’s official membership portal on their website
You can do so by visiting this link and entering in your username and password – https://www.puregym.com/login/.
Step 2 – Scroll through the menu and visit the Profile tab
There will be a few options for you to choose from once you’re logged in, click on the one that says Profile.
Step 3 – Browse the page until you find a link that says Cancel Your Membership – click it
On your Profile page, scroll further down and click on the link or button that says Cancel Your Membership.
Step 4 – Follow the next few steps until the website has confirmed your membership has been cancelled
Puregym may ask you a few questions why you’re cancelling and whether or not you’d like to freeze your account instead. They also may offer a discount for a few months to try and keep you on board.
Step 5 – Confirm one more time that your membership has been cancelled by checking your account on the next billing date
Once the system has confirmed your membership to Puregym has been cancelled, you should check your bank account once more on the next billing date to see if any money has been taken out.
Different ways to cancel Puregym
If you don’t want to cancel through their website and just go straight to the best option, contact your bank and put a stop on your direct debit agreement that you made with Puregym when you signed up. This is the most effective way to cancel, but may take a bit longer.
You should also know that you need to cancel at least three days before your next billing date in order not to be charged (as the form takes some time to process).
Don’t want to use either of the above methods to cancel? No worries – head down to your local PureGym and speak with the staff, or send their team a message on social media (links below).
Why do people leave
With PureGym strongly maintaining its position as the largest gym in the UK, they continue to expand overseas with new partnerships and ventures. Unfortunately, this has led to some not-so-wise decisions back home, which has then led to many members cancelling their contracts with PureGym. So, what are a few other reasons people cancel PureGym?
Just like many people have chosen to cancel their Everday Active memberships, one of the most popular reasons people move on from Puregym is the cost. It may seem inexpensive, with the lowest-cost option coming in at £9.99/month, but added on with the many other subscriptions people have every month, and sometimes it all becomes just a little too much. And so, Puregym ends up on the chopping board.
PureGym provides a space for people to exercise and better their fitness. So what happens after their members become fit and build all the muscle they want? PureGym is no longer needed. So, instead of uselessly paying the monthly access fee, they make the wise decision and cancel their memberships.
