As one of the first movers in the car sharing industry back in 2000, Zipcar continues to remain one of the largest and strongest companies in the industry. With over a million members and thousands of vehicles, they’ve made plenty of customers happy over the years. But not everyone. And if that’s the case for you, you’ll want to know how to cancel Zipcar before it’s too late.

Thankfully, just follow these simple steps to cancel your Zipcar membership:

Step 1 – Visit Zipcar’s official website and login to your account

Visit this page – https://my.zipcar.com/login – and enter in your username and password to login.

Step 2 – Go to the help section and submit a request to cancel your account

If you can’t find the help section, click on this link – https://support.zipcar.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=360001355433&ticket_subject=close_account – and it will take you to a pre-selected form which you can use to cancel your account.

Step 3 – Receive confirmation that your account has been cancelled from customer support

You should receive a notification in your email that your account has been cancelled. If not, send another cancellation request or give them a call (number below).

Step 4 – Confirm your membership has been cancelled by checking your account status

As with any service you cancel, it’s always good practice to confirm whatever service you’re using has actually been cancelled. Simply log back into your Zipcar account and check the account status.

How else can you cancel

Unlikely many other tech companies and app-based services, Zipcar does not offer a way for you to simply log in to your account and one-click cancel your membership with them. The only way is to log in, and send them a request through the link above.

And with Zipcar now allowing new users to access a car within minutes of signing up, it’s no surprise that demand for their services has recently boomed.
