Are there any cancellation fees?

If you cancel before the commitment agreed to in your contract, you may be charged an Early Termination Fee. Please refer to your contract to see exact figures. You will not be charged a cancellation fee if you disconnect your service within 24 hours of agreeing to the contract.

Can you get a refund?

Do you need to return their equipment?

Yes, you have 30 days to return all leased equipment to Dish from the date of cancellation. You are free to return the equipment yourself or have one of Dish’s contractors (800-333-3474) come and disconnect the equipment themselves.

Why do people cancel their Dish Network subscription?

Dish Network is one of the oldest streaming and on-demand services on the market, being founded in 1980. It employees more than 16,000 people and provides its services to nearly 20 million customers around the country. It’s recently been on a tirade to boost subscribers through a number of initiatives and acquisitions, however recent growth has significantly dropped, with the company ranking quite poorly in customer satisfaction. This has lead thousands of people to cancel their service and move on to something else.

One of the most popular reasons people cancel Dish Network is because there are better alternatives out there. Digital streaming platforms have taken the world by storm over the past decade, with dozens of competitors now competing for monthly subscriptions. And when another service has better content than Dish, most people will simply cancel and move over. This is also why so many people view our guide on how to cancel their subscription to Crave TV.

The second most popular reason to cancel is the monthly cost. Sure, it may be cheaper than other streaming alternatives, but when combined with multiple other monthly subscriptions such as a gym membership, meal kits, or even certain software packages, sometimes it all just becomes a little too much. And when that happens, usually on-demand streaming services are the first to go. Australia’s Foxtel Now has also come forward and said this is one of the main reasons people want to find out how to cancel a subscription with them.

Final thoughts

Dish Network provides TV, streaming, and on-demand content to millions of homes around America everyday. Many people are happy with their service, but not everyone.

If you think it’s time to stop paying for Dish, follow the steps above and you’ll be able to cancel your account today.
