Features Of A Foxtel Now Subscription

Foxtel Now has been provided a range of on-demand and live channels to Australians since 2013. They provide hundreds of hours of content and many live channels for sport, documentaries, news, movies, reality tv, and more. However, with more and more streaming services coming to market, many have decided to cancel Foxtel now and move to another service.

Steps to cancel Foxtel Now

Step 1 – Login to your account through a web browser

You can login to your Foxtel Now account here – https://www.foxtel.com.au/now/login.html

Step 2 – Click on ‘My Account’

With the main menu and click on ‘My Account’

Step 3 – Click on ‘Cancel Subscription’

From the list of options click on ‘Cancel Subscription’. You’ll be asked why you want to cancel and then to confirm one more time you’d like to cancel your subscription.

Step 4 – Confirm your account has been cancelled

Once you’ve gone through the steps above, double-check your subscription status to see if it shows the date it will end. It’s also a good idea to check your bank statements on the next billing date for any unwanted charges.

How else can you cancel

Foxtel Now is a completely digital service, which means they’ve made it as easy as possible to cancel your account simply by logging in. This is the exact same method that LinkedIn Australia has used for people to cancel their Premium subscriptions.

However, this is unlike Fitness First who only let you cancel by getting in touch with one of their customer representatives.

Why people cancel Foxtel Now

Launching in 2013, Foxtel Now (originally called Foxtel Play) was Foxtel’s first move into the online streaming business, with many more to follow. One of the biggest features that attracted consumers to the platform was its sports offerings. You could find almost all of the world’s largest sports streamed live to the platform. In saying that, there have been more and more platforms offering their own streaming services in Australia, which has caused many to re-think their Foxtel Now subscriptions and many choosing to cancel as well.

As such, one of the biggest reasons people cancel Foxtel Now is because there’s a better service out there. Whether it’s Disney Plus, Kayo, Binge, Stan, or Paramount Plus – there’s always going to be a competitor out there which may just have that one show the user wants to watch. And if that’s the case, what’s the point in keeping a subscription to Foxtel Now anymore?

Another reason people cancel is because of the cost. Foxtel Now isn’t cheap, and when it’s added to the many other monthly subscriptions someone may have, it may just tip over the top and become too much. And so, it’s time to ‘cut the cord’ on some of those monthly subscriptions.

Surprisingly enough, this is also why many people are already cancelling their Binge subscriptions – even though it’s actually owned by Foxtel as well!

Final thoughts

Foxtel Now has been in the online streaming business for quite a while now, easily racking up millions of subscribers along their journey. However, as more and more streaming services launch in Australia, many subscribers have chosen to cancel their accounts and move to a new platform. If that sounds like you, hopefully, the above steps have taught you how to cancel in no time.
